PliOS

Frequently asked questions

What PliOS is, who it serves, the regulations it covers, and how our AI compliance agents fit into a real, examiner-ready program.

Is this only for crypto companies?

Not at all. PliOS serves any US financial institution: crypto exchanges, fintechs, MSBs, community banks, trust companies, RIAs, and companies working toward financial licensing. The core compliance challenges (BSA/AML, formal risk assessments, KYC, exam readiness, vendor risk) are largely the same across institution types.

Can I use this before I have a license?

Yes. This is one of the most common use cases. Our Gap Assessment and Licensing Roadmap are designed specifically for companies preparing for their first regulatory submission, banking relationship questionnaire, or licensing application.

How smart is the AI — can I trust what the agents produce?

The agents are built on the assessment logic, scoring rubrics, regulatory citations, and policy templates written by former bank regulators and compliance leaders. Everything is cited to authority (FinCEN, OFAC, state rules), and every AI draft is meant for review and approval by your compliance officer — never auto-filed. It accelerates expert work; it does not replace judgment.

What regulations does PliOS cover?

FinCEN BSA/AML (31 CFR 1022), OFAC sanctions programs, FinCEN Travel Rule, state money transmitter licensing (all 50 states), NYDFS BitLicense, OCC examination requirements, FDIC compliance frameworks, NCUA guidance, MiCA (EU), and FATF Recommendations.

How is this different from Chainalysis or Vanta?

Chainalysis monitors blockchain transactions. Vanta automates SOC 2 compliance. PliOS is a compliance program management platform that covers your BSA/AML policies, examiner-grade risk assessments, KYC procedures, licensing deadlines, exam remediation, and board reporting in one place.

How are Risk Assessments different from the free gap assessment?

The free gap assessment is a fast, AI-guided program health check scored across broad compliance categories, ideal for onboarding and your first roadmap. Risk Assessments are the formal, documented assessments regulators expect: Inherent Risk profiling, control effectiveness (Yes / Partial / No / N/A) with evidence attachments, and a Residual Risk rating using the standard examiner formula, scoped to the risk domains relevant to your institution.

Is this a substitute for a compliance attorney?

No. PliOS is a compliance management tool, not legal advice. We help you organize, track, and operationalize your compliance program. You should still work with qualified attorneys for jurisdiction-specific legal guidance.

Can I export my data?

Yes. All policies can be exported as PDF or Word documents. Gap assessment results, risk assessment PDF reports, board reports, and exam findings are fully exportable. Your data is never locked in.
